Land Rover Discovery 4 Door Lock Problem

I also have a disco 4 purchased secondhand on december 22nd car went to restricted performance on december 25th into the dealer on the 28th returned on the 7th jan then the car has come up with the same fault on 29th jan and as of today 11th feb is still there both times turbocharger problems.

Land rover discovery 4 door lock problem. I found that by removing the rear door trim 4 big philips head screws at the lh lower base of the trim then pull out the bottom and sides and lift up at the top to remove gave access to the door lock mech. I had this exact problem a while back. The door card is now loose and can be pulled gently from the door. Remove 7 screws from the door car 1 from behind the door lock handle 4 from the grab handle 2 from the bottom of the door.

While i liked the idea of a british marque the decision was my mistake as i didn t do enough research. In this video we look at the central locking problems on our land rover discovery 4 we look at the fuse removing the door card trying to fix etc. Last time it did it i gently hit the door skin in the area of the lock mechanism from the outside of the vehicle with the flat of my hand and it opened and has continued to work normally so far. I took it yo my mechanic who new what it was without looking at it.

He replaced the setup which comes as a kit was around 600 fitted. From memory it was something to do with the door latching mechanism on its way out so sometimes when you lock the car it won t lock because the door latch appears to be open. Be careful removing the door card as there is wiring and the door lock cable attached to the door card. Start from the bottom.

Ocassonally my passenger side rear door acts as if the childlock is engaged but won t even open from the outside either.
